Cancellation Policy (revised January 2023)

Artist in residence program

Program fees are charged in full at the time of registration.

In order to receive a refund, a cancellation notice must be given at least 60 days prior to the start of the course. If we are given the required 60 days’ notice, we will refund your payments less a cancellation fee of 30,000 JPY + Transfer fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 60 days of the start of the course.

Dates can be changed for free up to 60 days prior to the program start date. Changes can also be made 30 days prior to the start of the program at a charge of 10,000 JPY. However, the program start date must be changed no later than 180 days after the original start date. Changes depend on the availability of reservations.

4 week course

Course fees are charged in full at the time of registration.

In order to receive a refund, a cancellation notice must be given at least 60 days prior to the start of the course. If we are given the required 60 days’ notice, we will refund your payments less a cancellation fee of 50,000 JPY + Transfer fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 60 days of the start of the course.

5 day course

Course fees are charged in full at the time of registration.

In order to receive a refund, a cancellation notice must be given 45 days prior to the start of the course. If we are given the required 45 days’ notice, we will refund your payments less a cancellation fee of 15,000 JPY + Transfer fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 45 days of the start of the course.

1 day course

Course fees are charged in full at the time of registration.

In order to receive a refund, a cancellation notice must be given 7 days prior to the start of the course. If we are given the required 7 days’ notice, we will refund your payments less a cancellation fee of 3,000 JPY + Transfer fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the start of a course.

Transfers

You may transfer from one course to another, space permitting. To do so, please notify us at least 45 days before the start of your course and pay a 2,000 JPY transfer fee. Registrations are not transferable to another person.

Occasionally, Mt. Fuji Wood Culture Society must cancel a course due to low enrollment, faculty illness or other unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you if a course for which you have registered has been cancelled. Notification of cancellation will normally occur one month prior to the beginning of the course but, in rare cases, it may be less. You may then enrol in another course (based on availability) or receive a full refund of fees. Mt. Fuji Wood Culture Society is not responsible for losses incurred due to off-site accommodation, travel or other arrangements.

If there is a Change in Course Instructor

Occasionally a instructor in charge is unable to participate because of a change in his or her professional schedule. If we must replace an instructor, we will do so with someone of equal or similar credentials. When time permits, we will inform all registered students.

Mt.Fuji Wood Culture Society accepts all persons regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or religion. You must be at least 18 years old to attend a course.

Unacceptable behavior: Mt. Fuji Wood Culture Society reserves the right to refuse registrations from participants who have a history of disruptive behavior or to dismiss any student (without a refund) who disrupts our learning or living community.
